Ride 4 A Woman

While engaging visitors in the joyous side of Ugandan life: music, dancing, cooking and weaving, R4W supports Ugandan women struggling with poverty, HIV and domestic violence. Located near Bwindi National Park, R4W is a nonprofit created by Eve Habasa and her husband Denis Rubalema. It all began with funds generated from a simple bicycle repair shop. From there, it grew into a bustling community center that is training 300 women from 11 villages. It has developed a microfinance project that provides seed money to budding businesswomen with entrepreneurial ideas. Restaurants, sewing centers, boutiques and markets have successfully launched and over 100 women have benefited from these opportunities.
