Virunga Anti-Poaching Hounds

Virunga National Park is home to over 300 mountain gorillas, the largest population of any protected area. Visit the famous Congo Hounds, Virunga’s canine anti-poaching unit. Bloodhounds are experts at tracking down poachers and rescuing people who get lost in the forest. Spaniels specialize in finding caches of ivory and weapons. Once the spaniels find ivory or guns, the bloodhounds take over to find the bad guys who stashed the contraband. Come see these great dogs and meet the commandos who train them and rely on them. It’s a lean mean team of crime fighters doing important work.
